Five steps from download to your first AI conversation with memory.
macOS: Open the .dmg and drag Dave to Applications. Windows: Run the .exe installer. Linux: chmod +x Dave.AppImage and run it, or sudo dpkg -i dave.deb.
Open Dave from Applications or Start Menu. Create a local account with your email — this stays on your machine and is used to encrypt your memory.
Go to Settings → Integrations and connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Openrouter, or local Ollama. You'll need an API key (or Ollama running locally — no key needed).
If you use Cursor, Claude Code, or Opencode, go to Settings → MCP Server and copy the local endpoint. Paste it into your dev tool's MCP configuration.
Hit the Chat tab and start talking. Dave will begin building your memory graph from this session.
Export your conversation history from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and let Dave build your personal memory graph.
Open Dave and start your first AI conversation with real memory behind it.
